Blueprint for North West Welcomed by MITEZ

Regional development group, MITEZ welcomes the Queensland Government’s release of the Strategic Blueprint for Queensland’s North West Minerals Province and the commitment for $39m for new measures to stimulate future mining and other job creating activities. Cloncurry Dam Feasibility Study Progresses in 2017

A detailed feasibility study of a proposed new, water storage for the Cloncurry and Mount Isa region will soon commence after the Queensland Government advanced funds for the first phase of the project to regional development group, MITEZ who last year made a successful application to the Australian Government’s National Water Infrastructure Development Fund. Assessment of Lake Moondarra potential underway

One of Mount Isa’s best assets, Lake Moondarra will be the subject of an assessment to examine ways to enhance the use of the Lake for the local community, campers and tourists. MITEZ begins study to identify potential customers of NT gas in the North West

Economic development group, MITEZ has engaged GHD Consulting to assess the flow-on benefits from the pipeline that will bring NT gas to Mount Isa in 2018. In addition to current customers such as Incitec Pivot, MITEZ believes that the pipeline could provide energy solutions for other companies in the region, particularly those who have substantial resource deposits within close proximity of the pipeline. Big Turnout at Hughenden to hear from Meatworks Investor

Beef producers from across a 700 kilometre catchment of the North West were among the 200-300 people who attended a stakeholder briefing at Hughenden by Flinders Shire Council, North Beef and DSCY (Australia) Investments Pty Ltd to hear more about plans for a meat processing facility.
