Funded with assistance through State Government this project assessed the options for an additional water storage for Mount Isa and Cloncurry.

Consultants were engaged to undertake investigative work, including site inspections and geomorphological studies and consult with a range of stakeholders.

An important aspect of the project was to develop a model to include a multi-criteria analysis that could be scored to determine an overall ranking of the options being considered.

Consultants then ran a workshop with key project stakeholders to determine the preferred option for the Final Report.

The project is considered as a preliminary investigation to support an application to the National Water Infrastructure Development Fund to undertake a feasibility study on the preferred option.
